4.10 ORDERS FOR PATIENTS TRANSFERRED BETWEEN SITES 

POLICY

When patients are transferred from site to site within Vancouver Acute and Vancouver  Residential Care (George Pearson Centre, Banfield Pavilion, Purdy Pavilion), it is the responsibility of the receiving physician to review existing orders within 24 hours and then to:

1.        Write an order to continue or amend existing orders; or

2.        Cancel previous orders and write new orders

It is, therefore, not mandatory to completely rewrite orders when patients are transferred from site to site unless the attending physician elects to do so.
